Duties

Help
  • Serve as a continuing point of contact for applicants and other parties interested in Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Personnel Procurement Programs.
  • Identify candidates not meeting requirements and elevate to the attention of the recruiter.
  • Collect information from potential applicant and determine appropriate programs based upon the applicant's qualifications, field and degree level, experience, and interest.
  • Compose and prepare correspondence directed to local, national, civilian, military, or professional groups, associations and educational institutions.
  • Occasionally accompany the recruiter on visits to the schools to meet with students to answer questions, resolve problems, and recruit new applicants.
  • Assist applicants in completing all required forms.
  • Arrange physical examination and coordinates required professional interviews for the applicant.
  • Prepare credentialing packages, with all documents, and forwards to the gaining activity for review and further follow-up.
  • Use database or spreadsheet software to accurately enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports and credentialing packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 25% may require incumbent to be away from the normal duty station.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: completing a variety of recruiting applications and forms; analyzing collected data for accuracy; utilizing clerical or administrative procedures to complete reports and/or correspondence; and interpreting and/or applying regulations or procedural requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
