  • Serves as the cyber network specialist for Det 2, 318 COG.
  • Installs, upgrades, replaces, configures and maintains computing systems and other IP-based devices that access military, Federal and commercial networks.
  • Aids in the implementation of highly advanced data and telephony communications systems instrumentation to support data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: applying complex information technology and communications systems concepts, principles, methods, and technologies; understanding voice and data communications protocols, access and transport methods; applying techniques to design, develop, and integrate/deploy candidate systems in to the JIOR architecture; applying performance measurement and management principles and methods to plan and carry out complex assignments and projects; researching and analyzing technical problems, developing new methods and approaches to solve unique and never before seen program related problems; preparing, presenting and defending technical plans and solutions to Program Manager, communicating technical requirements to non-technical personnel; making decisions to highly complex technical issues driven by customer requirements and rapid changes in technologies; evaluating the technological changes, conceive and develop new methods techniques; interpreting and adapting guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of a full range of network systems design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements.
  2. Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques, and requirements appropriate to managing base level network systems.
  3. Knowledge of long and short haul voice/data communications systems. Knowledge in the research and design of networks to facilitate cyber operations training.
  4. Ability to provide knowledge and assistance to the development and implementation of technology, procedures, and operations necessary to execute the Det's mission.
  5. Ability to understand the implementation of highly advanced data and telephony communications systems instrumentation to support data acquisition, analysis and reporting.
  6. Ability to communicate, written and orally, in a coherent/concise manner representing higher agencies goals and object
