Summary

About the Position: Serve as the advisor and functional expert for education, training and related matters. Develop, administer, and monitor training programs. Analyze costs of services provided. Formulate and implement the operating budget for programs. Ensure course content is up-to-date, and course objectives are on target with educational requirements of serviced population. Serve as coordinator for training all auditors and for training all Agency managers. Coordinate training requests.

Duties

Help
  • Manage and coordinate mission support projects, taskings, actions, and programs.
  • Facilitates the development of functional competencies for all positions within the organization.
  • Make professional, technical, and administrative proposals and decisions based upon long-range planning, mission objectives, considerations of funds, requirements, workloads, and priorities.
  • Advise employees, supervisors, and managers on all aspects of training.
  • Assure that all policy, regulatory and training initiatives are properly integrated across the workforce.
  • Coordinate the use of the Agency corps of instructors, and provide for instructor training.
  • Implement corrections by redesign, reassignments, rescheduling, reprogramming, or redistribution of resources.
  • Monitor the expenditure of Agency training funds and certify training funding.
  • Anticipate and revise training plans, programs or instruction, and materials for resident or nonresident training programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience is defined as: analyzing costs of services provided, formulating and implementing the operating budget for programs conducted, ensuring that course content is up-to-date with current state-of-the-art in subject presented, coordinating training for all Agency managers, coordinating training requirements for training conducted outside organizations.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Education

This position requires that you have to meet the following individual occupational requirement.

You must provide transcripts to be considered. Basic Requirements:
1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.OR
2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
