Develops case histories of students being considered at risk and may be in need of interventions.
Pursues a program of home visits to evaluate and/or follow up diagnoses, recommendations, and referrals.
Works within the local community to identify, coordinate, and strengthen contributing programs whose purpose is to assist families in need of special services.
Works with principals, teachers, and other staff members in gathering and sharing information about students which will aid in modifying or resolving student and family adjustment problems.
Performs individual or group social work services with the family and/or student in an effort to improve the student?s ability to function successfully in school.
Mobility agreement - selectees must be available for worldwide placement to any DoDEA Europe, Pacific and Americas locations.
A pre-appointment physical examination is required for selected individuals assigned to overseas locations.
Individuals hired from CONUS (Continental United States) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas location.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Qualifications
A Master's degree in social work is required.
This position will be filled as a 2 year, NTE appointment. It can be filled with a stateside or a local candidate, but the position will not continue after two years based on student need.

Education
Foreign Degrees and Course Work from Non-accredited Institutions. Credits or degrees earned from a foreign college or university must be evaluated prior to acceptance. Three evaluation procedures are acceptable:
the foreign institution that awarded the degree is on a list endorsed by a regionally accredited university or on a list endorsed by a state department of education for the purpose of teacher certification in that state (this procedure will require an English translation of the transcript and a copy of the document awarding the degree, together with an authenticated list produced by an American university or a state department of education); and
the work may be evaluated by the graduate division of a regionally accredited university and declared the equivalent of similar undergraduate or graduate work in a U.S. institution.
