The Assistant Inspector General for Management serves as the highest level of authority on OIG management and administrative matters and works extensively with the Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General and Associate Deputy Inspector General to integrate goals-based decision making into the allocation of OIG resources through multi-year and annual planning, and the annual budget process.
The Assistant Inspector General for Management represents the OIG on management and administrative matters with Congress, the Office of Personnel Management, the Office of Management and Budget, the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, the Environmental Protection Agency and other external stakeholders.
As Assistant Inspector General for Management, you are responsible for leading a diverse organization that provides day-to-day services and management oversight for a broad range of OIG mission support functions including: (1) budget policy, planning, execution and management; (2) human resources and human capital management to include recruitment, staffing, performance management, employee relations and training; (3) information technology management including planning, coordinating, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining OIG automated information systems, database management and IT security, which includes overseeing the development, management and oversight of IT security policies and procedures and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of OIG computer systems and information; (4) acquisition programs to acquire goods and services; and (5) facilities and space management for 13 locations nationwide to include emergency management.

Current or former career Senior Executive Service (SES) employees, with reinstatement eligibility, or candidates who have successfully completed a SES Career Development Program approved by OPM are not required to address the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), however you must still address the Technical Qualifications. Qualifications
ES-0340 series: The work of this position requires executive level management and oversight ensuring that responsible programs are carried out in accordance with goals and objectives and comply with legislative requirements and Federal policies related to program integrity, privacy, security, records and financial stewardship.
A. Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) - Mandatory Please provide a narrative not to exceed two pages per ECQ.

TQ 1. Demonstrated visionary leadership overseeing a staff in providing highly complex and technical operational and administrative services in support of organizational programs within the functional areas to comply with legislative requirements and Federal policies related to: budget and financial management, strategic planning, information technology, human resources management, equal employment opportunity.
TQ 2. Senior-level experience managing an organization’s corporate culture that (a) embraces customer service and an overarching competency; (b) empowers personnel to their full potential; and (c) successfully manages the impact of organizational and external changes to achieve strategic goals.
