In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-06: To qualify your resume must demonstrate 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) organizing contents of archival collections, 2) performing inventory of archival and/or library material, and 3) assisting in preparation of finding aids.

For GS-7: To qualify your resume must demonstrate 1 year of specialized experience to the GS-06 level in the Federal Service which includes 1) performing inventory of archival and/or library material, 2) independent preparation of finding aids, 3) analyzing and evaluating, progress towards meeting established goals and objectives, and 4) Identify American military history sufficient to allow for routine identification of ranks, medals, insignia, equipment, vehicles, unit hierarchies, geographic locations, and conflicts.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05/06).
