Duties

Help
  • You will review execution documents and reports using available financial management systems.
  • You will complete initial review to ensure funds are efficiently and effectively controlled.
  • You will ensure financial transactions are supported with proper documentation and in accordance with policy and internal control practices.
  • You will conduct studies, gathering and analyzing financial data, to improve the accumulation, processing, and reporting.
  • You will prepare data for presentations or reports on financial goals, objectives, and information to meet programmatic, budgetary, management initiatives, and directives.
  • You will perform budget planning and related execution tasks, analyzes various program requirements, and make recommendations on the allocation and execution of funds.
  • You will analyze and develop budget exhibits and budget justifications, including developing reclamas/issue papers to program budget marks.
  • You will process funding execution documents using appropriate financial management systems.
  • You will review, monitor, and report on the financial status of programs to execute funds in accordance with planning documents and regulatory guides/policies.
  • You will monitor obligations and expenditures, ensuring financial accounts are balanced against plans and established benchmarks.
  • You will analyze proposed budget changes, prior to and in the year of execution, and makes recommendations to accommodate budget changes.
  • You will draft responses to Congressional inquiries and assists in the development of Congressional Staffer briefs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field (K) Business-Financial Management, Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting analysis of financial data or reports to recommend adjustments in budget allocations, funding availability, or obligations and expenditures (e.g. requests, controls, and reporting).
