As the Lead Auditor (Information Technology) the incumbent serves as leader for several data analytic projects that may be single or multi-site. As a team leader, the incumbent is responsible for the approach to and scheduling of work, for assignment of subtasks to the various staff, and review of their work, integrating their products into the final report., as necessary. Assists in the development and maintenance of the OIG data analytics platform and efforts. Collects, analyzes, cross-references, and assembles electronic data, statistics, records, and files from diverse sources (including government and corporate databases), for the purpose of identifying anomalies, false positives, interrelationships, trends, and/or patterns. Provides recommendations for future data analysis. Reviews various reports and documents to ensure the project requirements and goals are met and appropriate analysis techniques are utilized. Prepares interim and comprehensive final data analytic reports for prosecutors, auditors, inspectors, investigators, and/or management officials in accordance with DOE-OIG policies and procedures. Testifies before Grand Juries, courts of law, or administrative hearings in support of technical matters. Approves leave, resolves simple, informal complaints of employees, inform the supervisor of performance management issues and provides input to supervisor for performance appraisals.

Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.
Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.
Upon reporting, and on an annual basis thereafter, you will be required to file a financial statement and/or a procurement integrity certification. These certifications may be subject to public disclosure.
This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS - A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.
In addition to the basic eligibility requirements, applicants must have specialized experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position in the practical application of professional accounting and auditing principles, procedure, and techniques.
At the GS-14 level the applicant must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13). Examples of specialized experience include, coordinating, planning and conducting complex audits, and providing advice and technical guidance to auditors.
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following KSAs/competencies: (Applicant need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application.)
1. Experience leading a staff of professional personnel through the timely execution of complex Information Technology audits, evaluating work in process, and reviewing results and audit reports for completeness and sufficiency.
2. Experience planning, organizing, coordinating, consolidating, and conducting complex Information Technology-related, and performance audits.
3. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to include preparing reports, constructing and delivering briefings and in negotiations associated with resolving issues with internal and external officials.
4. Knowledge of Federal accounting and auditing principles, standards and techniques as they relate to both Information Technology and performance audits.
