This position is located in the Office of Capital Access in one of the following: Citrus Heights, CA; Herndon, VA; Fresno, CA; Little Rock, AR or Hazard, KY. The incumbent serves as Loan Processing Assistant and is responsible for assisting in evaluating loan applications for program eligibility and creditworthiness.

This is a full time temporary position NTE 1 year which may be extended for an additional year for a maximum of 2 years. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19. This is an Open Continuous announcement. Applicants will be reviewed as needed starting from the opening date of the announcement. This announcement will be open until all vacancies are filled.

This position is being filled in response to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.

The Loan Processing Assistant will perform the following duties:

  • Researches and responds to Lenders' inquiries involving questions of a substantial but non-complex nature, such as the status of a loan application, franchise, appraisal, or modification request.
  • Screens and analyzes less complex loan applications and financial information to determine merits for acceptability of loan request; ensures that all required forms and documents are included and properly completed and that any needed supplemental or related material is provided.
  • Contacts and advises lenders as to forms to be completed and procedures to be followed in developing application package for submission.
  • Researches files and records to assemble needed documentation to evaluate and process request.

Qualifications

GS-7: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: Using automated systems for data entry and the tracking and processing of loan applications; Reviewing documents pertaining to commercial loan applications, such as lender credit memoranda and credit reports; Making determinations on completeness and appropriateness of a commercial loan applications; and Responding to customer inquiries with respect to the completeness and/or status of their commercial loan applications.
