This position is located in the Office of Management and Administration (MA), Administrative Resources Services (ARS), Office of Inspector General (OIG). As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist, the individual selected will be responsible for:
1. Providing a variety of IT services to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) workforce, predominately in the areas of website and database management, customer support, and systems analysis.
2. Providing a variety of IT services to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) workforce, predominately in the areas of systems analysis, website and database management, customer support, cyber security, and IT policy and planning.
3. Developing and updating business and user requirements for all OIG systems.
4. Collaborating with other IT Specialists for purposes of developing and maintaining all OIG IT systems used to store and retrieve data and develop standards for handling of data.
5. Providing expert authoritative advice and guidance on managing OIG websites.
6. Serving as the IT Security Officer for OIG.
7. Serving as the IT Point of Contact (POC) for all OIG Employees.
8. Developing Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) to correct findings of non-compliance.
9. Developing and providing guidance on policies, plans and procedures for the management, acquisition and use of IT resources. Providing life-cycle management for major IT systems activities and provide guidance on investments in computer equipment, software and services.
You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade restrictions must also be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.
Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.
This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service.
You may qualify for this position based on specialized experience. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled. To qualify for the GS-13 grade level, you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level.
Examples of specialized experience includes:
Working with customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance and resolving their problems. Ensuring proper implementation and adherence to IT security policies. Evaluating and recommending hardware/software changes. Developing and implementing web design features. Providing clear and concise oral presentations.
The successful applicant for this position will possess the following KSAs/competencies: (Applicants need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application.)

2. Knowledge of a wide variety of IT application systems, equipment, and Web design.
3. Knowledge of IT products and services.
4. Ability to provide customer service.
