The purpose of this position is to evaluate, maintain, and recommend upgrades to physical and technical countermeasure components and complete systems.
Applies Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Standards to include Physical Security Criteria (PSC). Design Basis Threat (DBT) and ISC standard for Facility Security Committees.
Interprets physical security regulations and policies related to technical countermeasures projects.
Evaluates technical soundness of security related procedures, projects, concepts, and designs.
Designs electronic security systems by working with tenant stakeholders, architects, engineers and other design team members to find security solutions.
Recommends upgrades to physical and technical countermeasure components.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal Government (can be obtained in the public or private sector) conducting ALL of the following: 1) recommending upgrades to physical and technical countermeasure components; 2) evaluating technical soundness of security related procedures, projects, concepts, and designs.; and 3) evaluate vulnerabilities and threats to facilities to determine cost effective actions. (NOTE: Your resume must show where, when and how you performed these duties.)
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
