LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32)

  • Serves as the ARNG Food Program Manager responsible and accountable for oversight of the entire state ARNG Food Service program which includes the administration of the Food Service Budget, Awards Program, new equipment Fielding's, training, Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) and inspections.
  • Maintains oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and long term system requirements, ARNG Readiness Center equipment modifications, and requirements to meet current workload demands.
  • Monitors the AFMIS to ensure reporting requirements from local, DA, NGB, and vendors are timely and contain accurate and formatted data.
  • Assists and coordinates with functional specialists in the identification of operational requirements and the conversion of these requirements into automated systems documentation.
  • Provides troubleshooting support by analyzing, studying, reviewing, testing, and interpreting information provided by user to determine whether hardware of software problems exists.
  • Provides technical liaison service to each ARNG unit, prime vendor, and other vendor companies.
  • Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative and submits technical specifications of contract requirements for commercial vendors when providing meal support.
  • Conducts, coordinates, and evaluates inspections and assistance visits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations and to identify systemic problems.
  • In accordance with provisions of the Army Regulations internal control systems, initiates, accomplishes and maintains vulnerability assessments, internal control reviews, and, as applicable, proponent checklists.
  • Monitors State ARNG federally funded Readiness Centers and ARNG Dining Facilities to ensure they remain within authorized standards and that required reviews are conducted.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG) and wear of the military uniform. Applicants must be a current member of the National Guard or be on Active Duty and be eligible and willing for immediate transfer to the TXARNG. If you are not sure you are eligible for TXARNG membership, please contact a recruiter.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-11 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following:

Specialized Experience Required
You must have at least 36 months experience or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
