    GS-12 Salary: $84,118 (Step 01) to $109,358 (Step 10);

    GS-13 Salary: 100.027 (Step 01) to 130,039 (Step 10)

    NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

    As a Geologist within the Central Energy Resources Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:

    • Compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing existing data related to geologic processes operating within petroleum systems;
    • Conducting original research on geologic processes operating within petroleum systems;
    • Conducting undiscovered geologic energy resource assessments for priority basins, as assigned;
    • Preparing, completing, and disseminating results of research and assessments through presentations and publications which advance the state of knowledge of geologic processes of petroleum systems and of undiscovered geologic energy accumulations.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - May travel up to 5 days per month.
