    This position is serving the National Science Board.  The Board provides oversight and establishes the policies of the NSF, and serves as an independent advisory body to both the President and Congress on broad national policy issues related to science and engineering, and education in science and engineering.

    Supports National Science Board (NSB) communications initiatives, particularly strategic engagement initiatives with critical stakeholders.  Develops and manages long and short range external and internal engagement, develops engagement products and tools drawing from existing Board and National Science Foundation (NSF) resources.

    Builds and maintains relationships with the media; such as participating in networking opportunities with the National Association of Science Writers, Politico, and others.

    Prepares talking points, speeches, and presentations for Board members and the Executive Officer using National Science Board reports, data, and graphical elements.

    Assists the Communications Director in short-term and long-term planning and implementation and participates in all phases of the planning process.

    Develops content for National Science Board social media and website. Uses digital documentation methods and practices.
