The primary purpose of this position is to oversee various functions going on in the facility, perform first level supervisory duties and to ensure that established policies and procedures are followed. Performs first level supervisory duties which include initiated personnel actions, preparing performance appraisals, recommending hiring and disciplinary actions, directing specific staff tasks and job assignments, training etc. Supports the Navy’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues. Maintains and enforces security of funds, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during the assigned shift. Calls and schedules staff as necessary to meet the needs of facility. Monitors operations of facility or assigned areas of responsibility, periodically checking to identify and resolve problems that may arise. Enforces facility rules. Responsible for the issue of change funds and control of cash. May make unscheduled cash counts. Assures all personnel clock in and out properly. Prior to closing building completes fire safety checks making certain that ash trays/trash receptacles are emptied and that unnecessary electrical equipment is unplugged. Secures all doors and windows, checks all locks on storerooms, cashier’s office, and other spaces required to be locked. Assists with inventory and procurement of supplies including food items. Performs other related or incidental duties as assigned. May assist with special events as needed.
