Reclamation is seeking a mid-career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise as a Project Management Specialist. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Would you enjoy serving as the Project Management Specialist responsible for providing a combination of project management functions for a variety of complex and unique projects and activities throughout the Glen Canyon Field Division, which includes Glen Canyon dam, powerplant and related facilities? MAJOR DUTIES
- Performs project management with responsibility for integrating projects with ongoing Field Division activities, providing coordination, program and project management, and decision support skills where needed throughout the Filed Division.
- Develops a program of continuing analysis and review and monitors the progress of projects.
- Ensures projects are in compliance with agreements, congressional mandates, and Reclamation policy, directives principles and guidelines.
- Facilitates the work of inter-disciplinary teams to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Develops and proposes current and out-year budget requests.
- Works with Contracting Officer to implement and administer a variety of assigned contracts.
- Initiates timely actions and technically monitors the contract to ensure it is carried out to completion as outlined in contract.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work is usually performed in an office setting but may involve hazards associated with field visits, such as climbing ladders and stairs, entering non-permit required confined spaces, identifying hazardous materials, or working within hazardous energy protection boundaries related to the maintenance and operation of hydroelectric power plant and dam facilities. Field work (up to 25% of the time) requires much walking, bending, climbing, and traveling associated with on-site inspections.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience must demonstrate the applicant has been equipped with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is directly related to the work to be performed.

GS-12: Your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for the GS-12: Experience working on projects related to electrical/mechanical/civil engineering disciplines as they relate to features found in hydro powerplants, pumping plants, or water conveyance systems. Experience with three or more of the following project phases: project initiation, project planning, project implementation, and project closeout, review of project management plans and scoping, scheduling, and budgeting documentation.

Applicants who do not meet the definition of specialized experience will be determined as not qualified and will be ineligible for consideration.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
