    This position is with the BLM Arizona State Office, Phoenix District Office, located in Phoenix, Arizona, performing duties in support of the Lower Sonoran Field Office.  Information about Location and the Location area can be found at Phoenix, AZ.

    Duties:  At this level, the incumbent provides technical support and assistance in range conservation, range management, and range improvement.

    The duties will include but are not limited to:
    -Ensures all stipulation in grazing permits and leases under area of responsibility are complied with.
    -Confers with permittees/lessees on general inquiries such as project maintenance and conditions.
    -Assists in preparation of grazing lease/permits and in other range administration matters.
    -Prepares billing documents, prepares range transfers documents.
    -Trains and monitors crews carrying out duties.
    -Conducts range studies (i.e., condition and trend, utilization, actual use, climatological, etc.).
    -Coordinates with wildlife biologists and participates in identifying areas of wildlife use, needs and unique situations.
    -Plans/conducts range use supervision and allotment inspections.

    Physical Demands: The work ranges from sedentary when completing duties in the office to frequent field work requiring a considerable amount of walking, riding, stooping, bending, and lifting.

    Work Environment: Office work is performed in adequately lighted, heated, and air conditioned offices.  Much of the time is spent in the field where exposure to extremes of heat and cold, rough terrain, insects, snakes, and other hazards are common.  The employee will carefully adhere to all safety procedures to mitigate hazards encountered.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and training events.
