Summary

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.

Basic Requirements:

A. Degree: Possess a Bachelor's or higher Degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

AND

Specialized Experience GS-15: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing the following duties:

  • Leading the identification, planning and execution of deep economic research and analysis on topics relevant to the U.S. anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) laws, and subsidies enforcement.
  • Developing recommendations for methodologies and approaches involving the administration of the U.S. trade remedies laws based on the results of that research.
  • Preparing written reports and delivering written and oral briefings to management on research and the resulting recommendations.

This position is at the full performance level.

This is a supervisory position. Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.

Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the Department of Commerce requires each and every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background investigation for Secret clearance as a condition of placement in this Non-Critical-Sensitive (2N) position. This review includes financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
