This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Office of the Chief Operating Officer. As an Archives Technician, you will serve as an Archives Technician in one of four reference cores of the National Personnel Records Center's Military Personnel Records facility. As an Archives Technician, you will:
- Review incoming reference requests in a variety of formats and inputs data using an automated customer relations management software tool. Apply understanding of service branches and unique identifiers to populate data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Communicate with various customers by telephone or email to clarify a request or obtain additional information which may facilitate a response.
- Facilitate the workflow on each team by distributing records, retrieving completed work and routing records and mail to the appropriate business area.
- Prepare standard forms to correct service record entries. A high degree of accuracy is required.
