Duties

Help

You are responsible for all aspects of the enterprise platforms program including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, operations, and enhancements. The current portfolio of platforms includes web publishing, content management, service management, data management and analytics, business process applications, and collaboration tools.

  • Defines and implements strategic roadmaps for SEC enterprise technology platforms in collaboration with OIT and business partners.
  • Manages the operations of enterprise platforms to deliver efficient, secure, reliable services; defines and tracks operational metrics to drive objective decision making.
  • Champions the transition to cloud-based managed services and use of automation to streamline service delivery.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize and implement enhancements that support emerging mission needs and create operational efficiencies.
  • Provides effective program oversight including multi-year planning for resources needs, robust business cases for proposed platform initiatives, and proactive risk management.
  • Consolidates, modernizes and retires legacy technologies by charting the path forward for shared services that provide front-line staff with modern tools.
  • Understands and leverages the technology governance and lifecycle processes to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-14 or SK-15 level.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicant must possess IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with customers to identify their information technology needs or to resolve their hardware and software problems (Customer service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement
SK-17 : Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 or SK-15 grade level: managing enterprise systems (e.g. 500+ users) including oversight of operations, development efforts, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
