    Summary

    You will serve as the Chief, Radiation Physics Division in the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI), Radiation Sciences Department (RSD), Radiation Physics Division of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

    Responsibilities

    • You will serve as senior consultant and technical advisor on command-wide radiation source operations.
    • You will plan, direct, oversee, and manage all aspects of the agency?s Radiation Physics Division operations, programs, and services in support of the USUHS/AFRRI mission.
    • You will develop initiatives and strategies that address management plans, goals, and emerging scientific and research issues.
    • You will serve as the primary authority and technical expert on the design, execution, and impact of research experiments involving sources of ionizing radiation.
    • You will evaluate procedures, personnel, equipment, and programs for safety and potential hazardous situations.
    • You will perform and direct the operations of the Elekta Linear Accelerator and Small Animal Radiation Research Platform facilities to include startups, maintenance, calibration, quality control, and the exposure of experiments to radiation fields.
    • You will exercise full budgetary control over the Radiation Physics Division ensuring that all fiscal, statutory, maintenance and operational requirements of the division are satisfied.
    • You will perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities and be responsible for complying with equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies and internal control program regulations and requirements.
