Duties

Help
  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures
  • Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables
  • Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation
  • Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators as well as vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • A one year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Ch. 2-15j(1) to include a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
  • Required to complete a medical examination within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts which include early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn (such as cleaning tables, setting up food in lines, setting up steam tables, setting up dining room tables, make cold sandwiches, operate a dishwasher, clean cooking utensils, etc. Can lift, carry, push and pull items up to 20 pounds. Can stand and walk on a continuous basis. Have the physical ability to stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend.)
