Summary

Provides day to day legal advice and counsel on issues involving federal labor laws, negotiations, labor grievances and arbitration, and other labor relations matters.
Provides advice and guidance in matters involving federal laws, regulations and agency policies governing employment, equal opportunity, conduct, performance and other personnel issues.
Represents the Corporation in administrative and federal court proceedings on labor, employment, civil rights, and other personnel issues.
Advises on the selection and engagement of non-legal contractors, contract administration and claims and dispute resolution.
Prepares and negotiates service contracts and documents for leasing of office space and office equipment.
Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required.
High Risk Position – Background Investigation (BI) required.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-14 level or higher in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience in the practice of law in the area of labor relations, employee relations, personnel and employment law, including providing advice and counsel to senior management officials on cases in the labor-management, equal employment opportunity (EEO) and employee relations areas and defending management decisions in administrative litigation.
