If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing support to AUSAs, along with applying specialized knowledge in the area of intake/papering proceedings. Typical work assignments will include:
- Supports the supervision and management of the Early Case Assessment Section (ECAS);
- Articulates and communicates problems to be solved, and program issues under review, and deadlines, and time frame for completing the assigned work;
- Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing the workload and tasks among paralegal specialists in accordance with established work flow and/or skill level
- Conducts research and applies a wide range of quantitative and qualitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products;
- Prepares cases for screening;
- Supervises and conducts criminal histories on all defendants on the lock-up list; and
- Coordinates with fugitive squads about the fugitive status of defendants.
The incumbent will be required to work Monday thru Friday, and other than normal duty hours, that include Holidays (and Saturdays on a rotational basis.) The other than normal duty hours are often without prior notice due to heavy workloads, court demands, conflicting priorities, and insufficient criminal history information to complete court requirements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Education is not a qualifying factor for this position.
Payment of relocation expenses will not be authorized.
