The Associate Chief Counsel (Finance and Management) supports the administrative, financial, and managerial programs of the Office of Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on all management matters for the organization nationwide. The Field Operations function of Finance and Management (F&M) is responsible for supervising and coordinating administrative, program, and clerical support duties for all of Chief Counsel's field functions, located in over 50 cities nationwide.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER?
As an Administrative Officer (AO), you will be responsible for providing analytical and staff expertise in connection with both financial and human resources. As an AO, you are the first line supervisor of a number of Office Managers, as well as the principle program manager for critical administrative services. You will also serve as the representative and advocate of a given Field Matrix Area in identifying, coordinating, and resolving Field Matrix Area issues.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13 grade level. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, as well as receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Administrative Officer, you will:

GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: having supervised a staff, including assigning and monitoring work and project status and completing performance appraisals; provided information and assistance to management on administrative and program management procedures, such as facilities, personnel management, and budget; conducted independent evaluations of administrative functions and recommended process improvements; developed and maintained working relationships with other organizations or major components within an organization.
GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: having supervised a staff, including assigning and monitoring work and project status, and completing performance appraisals; provided information and assistance to management on administrative and program management procedures in areas of facilities, personnel management, and budget, and provided expert advice in at least two of the aforementioned areas; managed an enterprise's annual budget; conducted independent evaluations of administrative functions and recommended process improvements; developed and maintained working relationships with other organizations or major components within your organization; trained, mentored, and motivated others.
The experience may have been gained in the public, private sector, or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
