The House Radio/ TV Gallery is seeking a Media Logistics Assistant to deliver a variety of services to accredited broadcast personnel and the Congressional community. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating electronic media coverage of House news events, primarily in the House Visitor Center (HVC) studio space, and providing legislative information to journalists and Gallery staff. This an exciting opportunity for those who have news-related experience and are interested in the legislative process.  We are looking for someone who has a strong work ethic, is able to work independently for long periods of time, enjoys taking initiative and ownership of assigned tasks and is able to provide excellent customer service.   

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility is the oversight and management of the HVC studios’ operations
• Fields incoming calls and answers routine legislative and press-related inquiries
• Oversees and schedules Congressional interviews and press conferences in the HVC studios while providing onsite broadcast support
• Monitors and takes notes on House Floor proceedings for a daily Chamber log
• Helps disseminate House Floor updates and event information to accredited media
• Updates the Gallery’s public digital signage boards in the HVC and helps maintain and update the Electronic Bulletin Board System
• Manages all social media content, creates new digital media opportunities, and updates office website, as needed
• Helps facilitate broadcast coverage of congressional hearings and special events
• Assists Director with planning and implementation of quadrennial national political conventions
• Performs other duties as assigned
