Incumbent serves as an Archives Technician with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Agency Services (A); Federal Records Centers Program (AF); and works under the supervision of a supervisor or higher-graded technician experienced in the tasks associated with the incumbent's position. As a Archives Technician, you will:
-Provide reference service by searching for records in various filing systems that are either cross-indexed or readily identified; and, refiles or interfiles records in various filing systems such as alphabetic, numeric, terminal digit, case file number, action date, etc.
-Assist higher-grade technicians in the accomplishment of physically loading and unloading containers of records, including the review of associated paperwork.
-Complete forms controlling new transfers and annotates reports generated by the Archives and Records Centers Information System (ARCIS) in accordance with established procedures and verifies restrictions imposed upon the use of the records.
