    As a Space and Telecommunications Specialist, you will be performing the following duties:

    • Managing projects from initiation to completion following good practices of communication, organization and development of timelines.
    • Coordinating work and preparing contracts requiring action for funding from Budget and Finance; coordinate tenant alteration requests with appropriate lessors, GSA, and outside contractors.
    • Preparing cost analyses upon request from high level offices at USPTO regarding new space or expansion to support budget projections for long range plans.
    • Providing advice and assistance to officials in identifying and resolving work flow and layout problems resulting from program changes, ineffective layout, and personnel expansion.
    • Providing for the general reduction or expansion of office space to accommodate both present needs and those which will arise in the future due to program and personnel reduction or expansion in USPTO, as part of a planned space program.
    • Initiating, implementing and monitoring the USPTO's complete telecommunications voice and data system; working to ensure maximum service at the least cost, at all USPTO locations. Considering whether requests are warranted, based on the number of people using the line frequency of incoming and outgoing calls, etc.
    • Developing operating instructions, arranging for installation or removal of telephones by the telephone company, temporary disconnections from desks to permit moving of furniture, painting and transfer numbers to follow personnel being moved to their new location as appropriate.
    • Writing tasks using appropriate obligation funding information and GSA reimbursable work authorizations to provide for these alterations.
