    Summary

    This position is located in the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Regional Office (ARO) or Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSCS) with two vacancies in Juneau, AK.

    Responsibilities

    As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
    • Write and produce newsletters, brochures, and other materials that are easily understandable to stakeholders and public.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for educational activities and programs which includes tracking and responding to requests from formal and informal educators, providing necessary educational materials, and responding to data calls.
    • Ensure a wide distribution of information through multiple sources of media, including social media to promote education and National Marine Fisheries Services information.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with educational grantees, grantee organizations, and stakeholders.

    Notes: These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZA-3, the ZA-2 is developmental leading to such performance.

    Occasional travel - Up to 5% of domestic travel may be required.
