Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Aircraft Pilot, Position Description Number D0711000 and is part of the WY Army Aviation Support Facility, National Guard.
Serves as the primary staff officer for the management of the aviation mission survivability and personnel recovery programs, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, avionics, armament and associated ground support equipment, and aircraft survivability equipment maintenance programs.
(1) Directs, evaluates, and issues technical guidance to aviation units on matters pertaining to aviation training, readiness reporting, the Aircrew Training Manual and National Guard Bureau (NGB) training management and planning.
(2) Serves as Aviation Mission Survivability Officer and as a technical expert in the field of aircraft survivability equipment maintenance with responsibility for coordination of Command Programs for the Army Aviation Support Facilities (AASFs).
(3) Manages the aircraft inventory for the state.
(4) Manages Physical Security Program in the SAAO and provides staff level support and assistance to physical security/operational security managers of the aviation units in the state.

Warrants not assigned to WYARNG must submit NGB Fm 62E

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
The Selected applicant must complete an "I-9, Employment Verification", "OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment", and a "Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department" prior to the appointment date.
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive
Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval.
PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives.
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a
Technician.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Positions in this series involve piloting or co-piloting aircraft to carry out various operational programs and functions of the Army and Air National Guard. The work provides ground and flight instruction and evaluation in aircraft piloting. The positions perform staff work concerned with planning, analyzing, or administering agency specific aviation programs, where the work requires primarily the application of pilot knowledge and skills. The Series encompasses all functions performed by rated pilots to conduct or directly support flying operations and training missions. Inherently included in this Series are supervisory and staff functions such as commanding, inspection, contingency planning, and policy formulation. The career area encompasses utilization fields that directly employ weapons and supporting weapon systems to accomplish the Army National Guard and Air National Guard operational missions. It encompasses flying operations and non-operational aviation positions concerned with the employment and support of aviation units and elements. This Series directs and coordinates the employment of aviation units in support of land combat operations. It provides expertise at all levels of command to develop doctrines and plans essential to the successful employment and deployment of aviation systems. Included in this Series are Operations Commanders, Pilots, Combat Systems Officers, , Special Tactics, Combat Rescue, Space, , Maintenance Test Pilots, Cyber Operations, Operations Security, and Operations Support.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediately below the GS-12 level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least 24 months experience operating a UH-60A/L/M , mission planning, and mission preparation. Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. Experience filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience with aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, , search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance. Experience conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experience developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders. Experience with the unit flying, , and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives.
