Duties

Help
  • Analyzes, directs, develops and integrates weapon system sustainment planning and programming activities for AMC
  • Analyzes, directs, develops and integrates Contractor Logistics Support, Depot Purchased Equipment Maintenance, Sustainment Engineering, Technical Order Management and WSS activities to support weapon system
  • Represents the command at HAF-level CAM/WSS/CAFDEx functions and is responsible for communicating critical issues to other staff agencies, installations and superiors

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management, Management and Program Analysis Series, 0343.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes expert knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations toward development and/or improvement of critical command plans and programs for conducting major operations such as war, mobilization, mission and flying operations, deployment, foreign military sales, weapon system/training device upgrade/modification, PPBS, special operations, or similar operations. Detailed knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Broad knowledge of Centralized Asset Management programs and governing policies, decisions, instructions and procedures with ability to analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions. Design and conduct comprehensive studies and prepare solutions and implement recommendations where proposals involve substantial resources and require extensive change in establishing new concepts and procedures.
2. Knowledge of Air Force and command program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events.
3. Knowledge of the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in the application of Air Force resource management, cost methodologies, requirements management, aircraft maintenance and depot operations expertise as it applies to assigned programs and projects and knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of command level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as mobilization, exercise, training systems, PPBE, acquisition, special operations, or similar operations with knowledge of AMC goals, objectives, sequences, milestones and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of planning and programming on accomplishing the AMC mission.
5. Ability to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, singularly and together, and familiar with administrative requirements of USAF and AMC.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to present information clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy as well as maintaining good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Current or Former Federal Civilian Employees (Includes current Air Force employees): You are required to submit legible copy/copies of your last or most recent SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action, (block 24 must be a "1" or "2" AND block 34 must be a"1"). Additionally, if you are applying for a higher grade (GS) and your SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements (examples of appropriate SF-50s include Promotions, Within-grade Grade/Range Increases, and SF-50s with an effective date more than one year old)
