Duties

Help

This position is located in the Office of Communications, Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The Office is responsible for administering the agency's communications programs, including the preparation and dissemination of information on EXIM's export financing products to domestic and international news media, U.S. and foreign businesses, lenders and brokers, federal/state/local government agencies, private organizations and groups, and the general public.

The Communications office utilizes traditional mass media, local, as well as local trade publications, marketing (including both paid and earned media), stakeholder and customer engagement, the web and social media to distribute its messages.

At the full performance level, duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops social media campaigns and posts by composing written and visual content with photos and original graphics. Publishes content to common social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn using native platform interfaces and platform management software such as SproutSocial.
  • Designs digital, print, and video material, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, pamphlets, digital graphics, and promotional videos using Adobe products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other design software including but not limited to Canva and video editing software.
  • Develops and executes email marketing campaigns and visual content in support of and in collaboration with internal customers according to internal customer requests and needs. Provides subject matter expertise around email marketing best practices to colleagues and internal customers.
  • Provides and maintains subject matter expertise around current social media and email marketing techniques, trends, standards, and best practices to support colleagues and internal customers including agency head and other senior leaders.
  • Provides event support for social media and photography for local events to agency leadership and other internal customers using high end government furnished Canon digital camera with intermediate proficiency. Edits photos using software such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Plans, manages, and executes social media advertising and associated budget on common social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):

GS-11: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:

  • Experience in the planning, management, execution, and measurement of digital engagement activities and campaigns on the behalf of an organization using social media platforms (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube), including written and visual content creation.
  • Experience with graphic design, photography, and basic video editing skills using the Adobe suite, Canva, and/or other design programs.
  • Experience with development of email marketing campaigns and content to promote the mission, products, and services of an organization.
OR

If you are substituting education for experience to qualify for at this level, you must have 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

If you are combining both education and experience to qualify for this level, equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
