    Summary

    This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration,Special Media Records Division (RDS-F). As a Motion Picture Preservation Technician, you will perform duties associated with inspection of original film elements, digitizing original archival motion picture holdings, managing digital surrogates and derivatives, and creating technical/administrative metadata.

    Responsibilities

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-8. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
    As a Motion Picture Preservation Technician, you will:
    - inspect incoming and permanent motion picture holdings as well as additional inspection projects as requested by the archival unit, Presidential Libraries, and/ or Regional Archives.
    - digitize original archival motion picture records using computer hardware and software technology.
    - produce video and audio files
