Summary

The Regional Office is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Federal nutrition assistance programs administered by State agencies within each region.
Analyzes and provides technical assistance and consultation on all aspects of assigned program operations.
Plans, directs, and participates in formal management evaluation reviews of State and local agency program operations.
Leads negotiation of acceptable and appropriate corrective action to address the findings and recommendations and independently performs follow-up of the review report to bring findings to closure within agreed upon time frames.
Develops written reports of findings and recommendations.
Makes presentations at state, regional, and national meetings and represents the Regional Office in meetings with State agency officials.

Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-12 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-11 level in private or federal service. Example of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
Providing oversight and technical assistance to Federal, State or local agencies regarding Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs or other public assistance programs;
Interpreting regulations and policies to ensure compliance with program requirements. Providing recommendations for program improvement and negotiating corrective action to bring program operations into compliance;
Communicating program findings and recommendations orally and in written reports; and
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
