Duties

Help
  • You will process contract award announcements by coordinating with originating systems commands for management review for submission and release.
  • You will identify sources of information needed, select appropriate kinds of information and determine the manner and order of presentation.
  • You will research any additional information from various sources to clarify and accurately explain the facts, so that release and contracts can be readily understood by the general public.
  • You will train and coordinate with contract notification backup and train newly appointed contract announcement system command coordinators.
  • You will respond to inquiries from media and public regarding contract issues and awarded contract announcements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: processing and releasing contract award announcements; familiar with a variety of standard print, broadcast, social and digital media communication methods; AND organizing media at international, national and local levels.

Additional Requirements: In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent combination of education and experience, as follows:

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
OR
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

Physical Demands:
Work is sedentary, being performed for the most part in an office environment. Position requires normal or correctable hearing and vision, and normal color perception. There are no unusual physical requirements. Some limited lifting is required for equipment and consumable material orders that are generally less than 40 pounds. Because critical deadlines must be met and uncontrollable elements often cause planning complications, this position requires incumbent with the ability to work under pressure.
