The Soil, Water and Air unit conducts research that develops knowledge and technologies that enable improvements of air quality, soil water management and mitigation of emissions to the atmosphere from agricultural operations ensuring sustainable agricultural production in a changing climate.
Summary
This position is in the USDA Agricultural Research Service, National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment located in Ames, Iowa.
The Soil, Water and Air unit conducts research that develops knowledge and technologies that enable improvements of air quality, soil water management and mitigation of emissions to the atmosphere from agricultural operations ensuring sustainable agricultural production in a changing climate.
Installs, maintains, calibrates and modifies complex/specialized equipment and automated systems in the field including eddy covariance and weather stations used for measuring /collecting meteorological data and performing evaluation procedures.
Participates as a team member with the scientist in all phases of the research process and assumes full technical and operational responsibility for specific phases of the research.
Performs the full range of techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment.
