Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the EXPLOSIVES & ENERGETICS DIVISION within the EXPLOSIVES & ENERGETICS DIVISION of NAVSURFWARCEN IHEODTECHDIV.

The NT-5 includes positions equivalent to the GS-13/14.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, Step 10; currently $128,920.

Duties

Help
  • You will lead and direct a technical, non-technical, and administrative staff and provide for their training and development.
  • You will develop and/or improve processes for propellant/explosive mixing, casting, preparation of hardware, post-cure, disassembly, motor load and packout.
  • You will be responsible for preparing and monitoring equipment purchases, fabrication, and maintenance contracts.
  • You will analyze and plan work requirements and ensure all assigned functions are executed in a timely manner.
  • You will apply knowledge of energetic material processing in order to develop and or improve processes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service, or in the public or private sector applying engineering technology concepts and practices to evaluate manufacturing processes for the production of explosives.
