Duties

Help
  • Performing a variety of analytical, technical and administrative work in support of the regional office's mission and objectives.
  • Managing the Regional Director's calendar appointments and arranges meetings with the Regional Director as necessary.
  • Procuring supplies and services using the government purchase card and performing market research, completing required procurement requests and reconciling purchase card transactions using an automated financial system.
  • Assisting in identifying adjustments necessary to budget estimates.
  • Assisting with contact price/cost analysis for the procurement of the most economical products and/or services, property management, HR management, and space utilization and security management for the regional office.
  • Performing administrative operations using various commercial and government /proprietary desktop applications.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Minimum Qualifications:
GS-09: You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal government, performing the following duties:

  • Identifying and analyzing administrative procedural problems for improvement;
  • Applying budgetary policies, regulations, and guidelines to assist with procuring supplies and developing the budget; and
  • Utilizing automated systems and applications to track spending, develop reports, perform market research, and manage files and records.
OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.

Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the Department of Commerce requires each and every employee to be reliable and trustworthy.
