Duties

Help

At the entry level, this position provides assistance to journey level workers in more than one of the skilled trade occupations by performing simple and routine tasks.  Ensures security and privacy of all guests is maintained at all times. Performs recurring assignments and follow up on maintenance requests reported by guests, housekeeping or front desk. Incumbent assists in performing work in at least two of the following trades; including plumbing, heating (HVAC), electrical, carpentry, and painting in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures.  Maintains work order log and follow up as required.  Logs trouble calls with contractor as appropriate.

Qualifications

Requires general knowledge of the various occupational trades.  Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safety is required. Ability to use and maintain the basic tools and equipment pertinent to the various occupations.   Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude; demonstrate effective communication skills, professionally interact with guests; answer guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local attractions.  Must possess basic math and reading skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
