    The Senior Auditor position is located in the Federal Election Commission (FEC) Office of Inspector General (OIG). The OIG is an independent and autonomous office with a dual reporting responsibility to both the Commission and Congress. The OIG's statutory mission and responsibilities, as enumerated in the Inspector General (IG) Act of 1978, as amended, includes, among others; detecting and preventing fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement in agency programs and operations.

    As the Senior Auditor in this position, you will:

    • Plan, execute and report on difficult and complex OIG oversight responsibilities, to include, but not limited to: statutory management and financial audits; hotline complaint inquiries and investigations; surveys and evaluations; special reviews and projects; and internal control reviews.
    • Work with management proponents at a higher level, to coordinate policy issues and provide interpretation on outstanding audit recommendations related but not limited to accounting, finance, resources, administrative, and agency internal controls.
    • Oversee subordinate employees in providing guidance and in the coordination of external audit agencies such as the Government Accountability Office, Office of Personnel Management, and other external audit agencies, as required.
    • Define goals for implementing the audit program as it applies to either individual or team responsibilities.
