Duties

Help

The incumbent serves as a senior writer and editor, providing writing and editorial support for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer as well as definitive advice and editorial review on sensitive written material and products developed throughout the organization. He/she regularly reviews written material submitted to the CFO for editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content requirements. Ensures that the written work products adhere to FCC style and format requirements. He/she reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

GS-13: Specialized Experience:  Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in the Federal service.  For this position, specialized experience includes, but is not limited to the following: writing and editing documents and reports; reviewing and providing technical advice on writing style policies and procedures; reviewing, preparing, and editing presentations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.  Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.  

Specialized Experience:  Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in the Federal service.  For this position, specialized experience includes the following: writing and editing documents and reports; reviewing and providing technical advice on writing style policies and procedures; reviewing, preparing, and editing presentations.



PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
