    About the Position:
    Serves as a Hydraulic Engineer and Reservoir Regulator for projects and systems within and affecting Seattle District boundaries. Most projects are multi-purpose in nature and may involve any or all of the following functions: flood control; water supply; wildlife preservation; recreation; hydropower; environmental enhancement; and water quality.

    • Apply computational and analytical computer modeling tools for use in reservoir systems planning, operations and flood risk management studies, as well as assisting in the development of new or supplemental tools to accomplish the same.
    • Assist with the water management and operations of reservoirs and reservoir systems in a large geographic area within the Seattle District boundaries, which include both snowmelt-dominated and rainfall runoff-dominated watersheds.
    • Assist with the development and preparation of plans for the operation of flood control and multi-purpose dam and reservoir projects.
    • Assist with special hydrologic research investigations and statistical analysis for specific geographic areas, post flood reports and flood risk management studies.
    • Assist with feasibility reports and design memoranda for proposed projects with hydraulic and hydrologic aspects and with environmental assessments or impact statements.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Temporary business travel for duty is approximately 10%.
