    This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG). The incumbent of this position will work within the Office of the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations (DIG INV), Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Investigative Operations / National Security Division.

    As a Criminal Investigator - Program Manager (Counter- Proliferation), GS-1811-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Develop understanding of DCIS and OIG organizational goals and priorities and complies with policy action officers.
    • Issue criminal investigation-related guidance to field components regarding procedures, techniques, and methods.
    • Identify deficiencies within program operations and develop solutions sufficient to attain optimal results.
    • Reviews, develops, prepares and revises new or existing policies, instructions, and directives.
    • Exercise oversight and prudence in the update of those policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility, in support of the DCIS investigative priorities.
    • Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of routine and/or special reports of correspondence for the OIG and DCIS leadership.
    • Performs various special projects as assigned relative to agency training and new initiatives in program operations.
    • Conducts recurring reviews of case inventory to identify trends and identify deficiencies within program operations.
    • Make recommendations to management regarding best practices, organizational vulnerabilities, material weaknesses and policy updates/changes.
    • Represents DCIS at meetings and conferences with other law enforcement organizations and other agencies to discuss items of mutual interest.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.
