    Summary

    NIFA is a premier Federal partner in finding innovative and transformative solutions to critical food and agriculture problems across the nation. We are looking for science professionals to serve as Division Director and lead the coordination and integration of multiple research, education, and extension programs that address national agricultural priorities.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervises a staff of scientific and administrative professionals and provides vision, direction and perspective for research, education, and extension programs of national and/or international scope and impact.
    • Maintains technical and disciplinary competence and keeps abreast of emerging topics, trends and issues in the assigned field in order to identify mission-relevant programmatic responses.
    • Initiates and facilitates networks, liaisons and collaborations among high-level partners and stakeholders both within and outside NIFA.
    • Serves as a staff expert and consultant in the disciplinary area(s) of responsibility.
    • Manages programs by prioritizing activities, anticipating problems, removing barriers or obstacles, and coordinating resources.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
