The Executive Assistant, is located in the Office of Management and Administration. The Office of Management and Administration (OMA) provides a large and diverse range of management, administrative, and operational support services to the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

As an Executive Assistant, you will:
-Serve as the personal and confidential assistant and principal advisor to the AIGMA/DAIGMA on all matters associated with managing and operating the Office of Management and Administration and acts on behalf of these executives. Take a leadership role in execution of Management and Administrative projects. These projects are generally highly complex in scope and address nationwide program and mission-critical compliance issues.
-Serve as the primary representative and liaison for the AIGMA/OAIGMA, and has full authority to act for him or her, in meetings and conferences with senior OIG, VA, congressional, and other government officials. Assist in the development of policies and develops courses of action within framework of established policy. Duties require extensive ·interaction with senior VA and other officials.
-Perform systematic analyses of Management and Administration operations, including the performance of staff and offices, and provides relevant information to the AIGMA/DAIGMA. Maintain a database for tracking the status of all projects, which provides management information on the progress of work in progress, other projects and is used.to oversee and control operations.
-Develop and prepare regular reports for management decision-making. These reports provide key information and other significant events that impact the OMA, OIG, and VA.
-Formulate and recommend policies, procedures, and standards to promote more effective and efficient operations and establishes protocol or requirements for projects and staff.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:  For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: 

-Planned, coordinated, and monitored projects and assignments with competing demands and deadlines; AND
-Researched information needed to prepare reports, and to respond to requests for information; AND
-Demonstrated experience conducting special analysis, recommending solutions, and developing these into action.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Public Trust – Background Investigation will be required. 
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
