The Team Leader leads and participates on a compliance and enforcement team that supports the mission of the Department and OCR's Strategic Plan. The position is located in a regional OCR office whose objectives are achieved by conducting complaint investigations, compliance reviews, and by providing technical assistance.

As a Supervisory General Attorney (Team Leader), GS-0905-14, you will be responsible for the following duties:

•    Directs a case resolution team in the planning and conduct of complaint investigations, compliances reviews, proactive enforcement activities, and the provision of technical assistance.

•     Ensures that the case resolution team’s investigations are factually accurate and legally sound.  Advises the team on the interpretation and application of the statutes and regulations enforced by OCR as well as OCR’s case-processing procedures

•    Provides legal guidance to the team on the analysis of evidence, investigative reports, resolution letters, and negotiated settlements.

•    Provides professional leadership and guidance to team members in conducting and improving complaint investigations, compliance reviews, proactive enforcement, and technical assistance activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Specialized Experience for the GS-14

One year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 performing all three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:

1.  Experience with federal or state civil rights law, administrative law, or comparably complex bodies of statutory and regulatory law.

2.  Experience providing advice and guidance to less experienced staff. 

3.  Experience coordinating the work of other staff in conducting complex and sensitive complaint investigations.
