Summary

Duties

Help
  • Handles programs, operations, and calls, of a routine nature, and refers to appropriate personnel.
  • Work closely with research scientist, professional, technical, administrative staff, and/or the public.
  • Receive and/or distribute supplies and special order items.
  • Ensure that the accountable property is accounted for and utilized in the office.
  • Assists with a full range of purchasing and procurement needs of the unit.
  • Maintain procurement and/or purchasing files in accordance with Federal regulations
  • Receive data from multiple sources in multiple forms, including email, reviews the data, and processes it to meet a variety of administrative needs

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:

GS-5 One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level. Specialized experience is defined as having two or more of the following;

  • Assisting with administrative support for personnel actions, attendance records, payroll, and/or travel arrangements;
  • Ordering, tracking, and maintaining offices supplies;
  • Updating spreadsheets and databases; and processing incoming and outgoing correspondent
OR

A bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school;

OR

Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
