This announcement is open to Without Compensation (WOC) Allied Health Trainees rotating through the Miami VA Healthcare System.

Duties

Help

  • Trainee's duties vary with the career or position one is training for
  • Preceptor delegates duties to the trainee and helps him to execute them.
  • Trainees will be responsible performing the required assignments designated by their VA preceptors and Program Directors
  • Trainee works under the supervision of their assigned preceptor.
  • Perform common outpatient and office based assignments
  • Receive training and perform duties in assigned services
  • Learn various functions to perform in a trainee capacity including but not limited to operations, hospital policies and procedures
  • Works with preceptors to master competencies indicated by the program.
  • Observe experienced employees to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for performance.
  • Reports to Program Directors and/or Chief Medical Residents for daily assignment

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements and submit ALL required documentation 30 Days Prior to starting Rotation.

Education

Educational Institutions must be approved by the Department of Education (DOA) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation ( CHEA)

For Medical Students:

  • Approved schools are:
    • (3) For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) that the applicant has met requirements for certification, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate, if claimed by the applicant.
    • (2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
    • (1) Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted, or
