This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Planning (OMAP), Division of Information Technology (DIT). DIT is composed of two Branches, the Branch of Information Technology (BIT) and the Branch of Database Management and Applications (BDMA), which provide IT services for the OIG. This position is in BDMA.
BDMA provides applications development and support and administers databases and/or data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, protection, and utilization of data. This includes contributing to the application security posture across the organization, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of OIG customized applications, commercial off the shelf (COTS) applications and systems designed to acquire, prepare, and control access to sensitive and mission critical data between OIG stakeholders.
2. Manages information technology projects designed to provide a unique service or product. Works with stakeholders, to include senior and executive management, to gather and analyze requirements. Produces technical documentation for systems and applications required to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO). Documentation includes but is not limited to; Security Access Controls and Configuration Management.
3. Technical Customer Support. Addresses problems, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and provides maintenance and training in response to customer requirements or inquiries (e.g., tiered-level customer support). Researches, evaluates, and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements. Develops and maintains problem tracking and resolution databases. Also develops and manages customer service performance requirements, and provides customer training.
4. Designs, develops, deploys, tests, and evaluates cyber systems and applications. Coordinates resolution of application issues, upgrades, and problems. Conducts application configuration and optimization. Develops and maintains manuals, drawings, system specifications, electronic and hardcopy files of customer installations, calibration records, maintenance records, and quality control information. Mentors mid-level and junior staff as required.
5. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Modifies and maintains existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan the development of a new application or modification of an existing application. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Applies coding and testing standards, apply security testing tools including "'fuzzing" static-analysis code scanning tools, and conduct code reviews. Applies secure code documentation.
Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required in support of OIG functions.
