Duties

Help

The incumbent has primary responsibility for audiovisual communications project management supporting agency-wide efforts to enhance the effectiveness of NTSB communications products designed to provide information to internal and external audiences, and other products tied to mission-related activities. Serves as Project Manager for audiovisual productions and is a subject matter expert on video production for all agency video efforts. This includes planning all aspects of production and logistics. Plans, coordinates and executes a wide variety of visual information projects to communicate assigned information objectives. Represents the Division Chief, as required, in meetings and working groups. Provides advice, resolving matters of policy interpretation and introducing changes in program requirement and procedures. Negotiates differences of opinion among organizational elements with respect to audiovisual products. Assembles complex background information and material as a basis for decision-making. Organizes such material in the most effective manner for presentation to and use by the Division Chief. Provides the management staff and outside groups with continual guidance and information on audiovisual communications policies, practices, and strategies in support of mission objectives.

Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: developing, editing, and producing high-quality video productions for internal and external audiences, staying current with trends in video production, leading efforts across agency teams to improve and expand mission-related videos, and providing strategic guidance in the development of improved or new video products for digital and social media distribution; providing on-scene audiovisual support to high profile transportation accident investigations, including producing video and still photography of senior leadership, investigators, and the accident scene for distribution to media stakeholders and for subsequent use in agency mission products
